August 2015 – Pacific Simulators commissioned one of its latest PS4.5 Flight Simulator Training Devices (FSTD) in the Brisbane headquarters of Aviation Australia last week.
Aviation Australia will predominantly use the PS4.5 for pilots wishing to obtain their Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) Certificate as part of the new CASA Part 61 licensing requirements, and for Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) System Training.
Well known for their global Flight Experience brand, Pacific Simulators have expanded operations into manufacturing fixed base jet simulators to provide a high quality but cost-effective solution for ‘airline bridging’ pilot training. They have training simulators in the USA, Australia, Thailand and Indonesia and are currently in negotiations for new markets in South America and China.
The device delivered to Aviation Australia will form part of a network of simulators delivering MCC training in Australia through a newly formed alliance named MCC Australia. Aviation Australia was established by the Queensland Government in 2001 to address the needs of the global aviation industry. Established in Brisbane, the company has now expanded to include locations in Cairns, Melbourne, Sydney and Shanghai. The company has also recently formed a joint venture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the building of the Aviation Australia College, Riyadh, which has a capacity to train 1500 students per annum. Whilst the business has focussed primarily on aircraft maintenance engineers, cabin crew and ground staff training, the recent acquisition of the PS 4.5 will form the centrepiece of Aviation Australia’s entry into the advanced pilot training market.
Director of Sales and Marketing for Pacific Simulators, Iain Pero said this week, “The delivery to Aviation Australia marks another milestone for our company. Over the last three years we have been working hard to penetrate the training market and meet civil aviation regulatory approvals for low-level training such as MCC, and over the next few months we will be delivering several new devices to training clients. We believe the PS4.5 is the practical and cost-effective solution for many flying schools, universities and airlines.”
