PacSim to supply FTD to Bolivian Airlines

March 2018 – Pacific Simulators to supply FTD to Bolivian Airlines Pacific Simulators (PACSIM) have won a contract to supply Bolivian Airlines (BOA) with a ProJet PS4.5 Flight Training Device (FTD) which will compliment BOA’s recent Boeing 737 Full Flight Simulator (FFS) acquisition. The airline has a fleet of 22 aircraft of which 16 are Boeing 737’s. This represents PACSIM’s first sale into Latin America.

The PACSIM ProJet PS4.5 is an ideal procedural training device for type rating preparation, jet orientation, multi-crew training, systems familiarisation and SOP training. For many airlines it is perfect for simulator assessments for pilot recruitment and due to it’s low cost can literally save hundreds of thousands of dollars when reducing the demand on the full flight simulators.
Until now, BOA have contracted their training to other training providers, but now most of the training for the B737 fleet will be brought in house at their new facility at the BoA Training Center in Cochabamba Bolivia. Bolivian Airline Head of Training Center, Alejandro Dorado says he is very pleased with the Pacific Simulators FTD, “Over the last several years our fleet has been expanding and the next stage is to concentrate on training our own pilots. The PS4.5 is a fully tactile, fixed base training device that can be used in conjunction with the full motion simulator. We expect to see the FTD get a lot of use, including the Multi Crew Pilot License training (MPL) and Multi Crew Co-Operation course (MCC) training that is offered to the cadet pilots at the training center”.
